Valentines in the Presidental Suite

by Judith Keim

Romantic Women's Fiction

Date Published: August 25, 2026

When Morgan Riley meets Simon Weaver, an older man who’s just moved into her upstate New York town, she becomes a book review partner with him for the local bookstore owner. Coming from an unhappy childhood, Morgan treasures her relationship with Simon, who is like the grandfather she never had.

Brad Hamlin, an attractive widower, is hired as a new partner in the law firm where Morgan works. She is assigned to assist him, and they form a successful team. When Simon needs a lawyer to help him with a difficult situation with his very greedy daughter-in-law, Morgan suggests Brad. As friendship deepens between the three of them, neither has any idea what life has in store for them.

A special spin-off book in which characters have their own stories and end up at The Beach House Hotel in Florida with Ann and Rhonda. A chance to stay connected to the series in a different way.

About the Author

Judith Keim, A USA Today Best-Selling Author, is a hybrid author who both has a publisher and self-publishes. Ms. Keim writes heart-warming novels about women who face unexpected challenges, meet them with strength, and find love and happiness along the way, stories with heart. Her best-selling books are based, in part, on many of the places she's lived or visited and on the interesting people she's met, creating believable characters and realistic settings her many loyal readers love.

She enjoyed her childhood and young-adult years in Elmira, New York, and now makes her home in Boise, Idaho, with her husband and their adorable dachshunds, Wally and Kacy, and other members of her family.

While growing up, she loved the idea of writing stories from a young age. Books were always present, being read, ready to go back to the library, or about to be discovered. All in her family shared information from the books in general conversation, giving them a wealth of knowledge and vivid imaginations.

Ms. Keim loves to hear from her readers and appreciates their enthusiasm for her stories.

Paperback Review: Biker Boo (31 Days of Trick or Treat: Biker and Mobster) by Morgan Jane Mitchell

Blurb:

From USA Today Bestselling Author, Morgan Jane Mitchell comes a Kings of Anarchy MC: Kentucky novella
Welcome to Hell, Kentucky, where love bites harder than the cryptids in the woods. Property of Biker Boo is a steamy Halloween motorcycle club romance novella with slasher film vibes, featuring a possessive outlaw hero, a brokenhearted heroine, and one night of spooky, forbidden passion. This sizzling stalker romance packs in gritty MC tension, Halloween horror, and second-chance longing.

If you like obsessive love stories, masked bikers, and twisted Halloween heat, this novella will haunt you in all the right ways.

Becki
I should be at the costume party with the rest of Paradise, but I’m stuck at the trailer park, hiding out with heartbreak and horror movies.
Legend broke my heart, again, and now there’s a man in the shadows watching me from the woods.
He’s masked. Tall. Dangerous.
And when he finally catches me, I don’t scream.
I kiss him back.

Royal
I’ve wanted Becki ever since I was fostered by her father's church.
But she’s always belonged to another man, my president.
Every Halloween I watch her, craving the one thing I can't touch.
This year, I make my move.
One mask. One kiss. One night to change everything.
But love like this? It don’t come clean.
Not in Hell, Kentucky.

My Review - 4 of 5 stars -

This was a quick read and showed the relationship between Becki and Royal. It was a secret, steamy connection with a shared past. Becki hoped that it was someone else behind the mask, and Royal was willing to be the secret Biker Boo for his taste of Becki. I did enjoy this story.

This is my unsolicited review.

Ebook Review: Tethered by the Sea (Saltbone Sinners #1) by India R. Adams and Nikki Landis

Blurb:

From USA Today Bestselling Authors India R Adams and Nikki Landis, Tethered by the Sea is a moving, coming-of-age love story that blends a touch of dark mythology with aching humanity.

While raised in the shadow of a motorcycle club, Maddox was unaware that a boundless oath protected him. But on his tenth birthday, tragedy tore his world apart when gunfire erupted and a disastrous accident took place on a bridge, sending Maddox over the edge and into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.

He should have died.

Instead, something in the water saved him.

Now without his protectors, Maddox spends the rest of his childhood running from his past and into a newfound family that he never saw coming. Even though they hold the broken pieces together with the tender thread of healing, none of that stops the ancient hold that followed him from the Atlantic.

Maddox’s grief hardens him into a dangerous, scorned young man who continues to be tethered to a mystical presence waiting beneath the tide.

His past refuses to stay buried because the ocean never truly let him go.

And neither did she.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

This one had me on an emotional roller coaster. Tissues were definitely necessary. Maddox/Johnny saw death, almost lost his own life, grew up faster than needed, and found family. I loved the bonding that took place with his family and foster family despite all the secrets. There were plenty of touching moments, violent scenes (on and off page), and love shown throughout. I cannot wait until the next book in the series to see where we go from here. I have thoughts as to what may happen so September cannot come fast enough.

I received an ARC, and this is my unsolicited review.

Book Review: First Street (Harbor View Cozy Fantasy Series #1) by May McGoldrick

Blurb:

Small Town. Big Secrets. A Touch of Magic. Slightly Sarcastic Ghosts. (A Low Stakes Cozy Fantasy Series)

Harbor View Cozy Fantasy Series

Welcome to Harbor View,
where the gossip travels fast, the ghosts linger longer,
and no secret stays hidden forever...

When Skye Randall returns to her quirky New England hometown after her mother’s sudden death, she brings along her fifteen-year-old daughter, two weeks’ worth of plans, and absolutely no intention of staying. She’s here to settle the estate, sell off the antiques, and get back to California to rescue her crumbling marriage. Easy, right?

Not a chance.

Harbor View has other ideas. The cozy seaside village comes with nosy neighbors, salty sea air that smells faintly of magic, and two opinionated ghosts haunting the bookstore and antique shop facing First Street. Skye’s kept their existence a secret from her daughter, but when strange happenings suggest Clare’s death wasn’t just a tragic accident, she realizes she’s going to need all the help she can get—even if some of it comes from the other side.

As Skye and Ocean navigate loss, family secrets, and a whole lot of supernatural shenanigans, they’ll discover that some legacies are worth fighting for. And in Harbor View, the past doesn’t just knock politely—it barges right in.

In a town where secrets linger and its spirits refuse to stay quiet,
two weeks might change everything!

Heartfelt, funny, and filled with seaside magic, First Street is the first book in the Harbor View Cozy Fantasy series...where family ties, ghostly help, and a touch of mischief make all the difference.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

This story touched my heart. Skye and her daughter, Ocean, went to take care of aftermath of Skye's mother's passing. Here, memories, ghosts, friendships, and murder played out. Ocean was more informed and accepting than her mother thought. Helping two ghosts reconnect, solving the murder of Skye's mother, dealing with an empty marriage, and more had me turning pages, wiping away tears, and feeling more lighthearted by the end. I look forward to more in this series.

This is my unsolicited review.

When she blunders into a truly dangerous situation, she realizes Merritt might be right: she might be in over her head with this whole detective thing…or she might be unravelling a mystery even bigger than the one they started with.

My Review - 4 1/2 of 5 stars -

4 1/2 stars. I enjoyed this story with plenty of twists and surprises. There were a lot of characters and different family dynamics. Clues were there along with red herrings. I loved Olivia's confidence in her ability to be a private investigator, even as she found that she was not as observant as she thought. Her determination to show what she could do led to some answers. Ms. Merritt was very strict and adamant about her expectations, even as she was taught Olivia. Humor added to the story, keeping the story moving along.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

This was one woman's journey to find peace and happiness. Jacqueline and her husband vacationed together but did not spend much time together. She decided to check out the island and met Michael. They became friends, and he brought lightness into her life. When Jacqueline's marriage fell apart and ended, she returned to Block Island for an extended stay. Love bloomed even with the secrets. The ending was touching and had tears in my eyes. I enjoyed Jacqueline's determination to improve her situation and willingness to take another chance on love.

Book Tour: Ivory Bones (The Lewis Chessmen Murders) by Sara Winokur with an excerpt and a giveaway

Ivory Bones

The Lewis Chessmen Murders

by Sara Winokur

Historical Mystery

Date Published: February 4, 2025

Publisher: Briarstone Press (sarawinokur.com)

Ancient chess pieces. A centuries-old diary. And a modern killer closing in.

When Icelandic forensic geneticist Brynja Pálsdóttir, haunted by her family’s dark legacy, is drawn into the search for the missing Lewis Chessmen, she becomes a pawn in an assassin’s deadly game.

A centuries-old diary, written by a woman abducted during the brutal Barbary pirate raid on Iceland in 1627, lands on her desk. Brynja soon realizes the woman’s story may hold the key to finding the priceless medieval artifacts.

As Brynja digs deeper, she becomes the target, surrounded by deception and unsure of whom she can trust: the NYPD colleague hiding her own motives, the sculptor whose family lays claim to the chessmen, the lover she has spurned, even her own assistant.

As the past and present collide, betrayal, loss, and survival transcend time and place.

Ivory Bones: The Lewis Chessmen Murders is a gripping blend of Nordic noir, historical intrigue, and murder mystery, where ancient secrets and modern dangers force Brynja to face a dark, inner truth before the assassin makes their final move.

Excerpt:

Brynja checked her watch. She was late for the annual Thorrablót feast. Although the

pagan sacrifice was a thing of the past, in Iceland the past lived on. Her long-time love Ari was hosting the traditional dinner party at his favorite restaurant, Nordica, and she didn’t want to miss the celebration.

She stood to grab her coat from the rack, then hesitated.

The book stared at her.

Ari would understand. She sat back down and unfolded the loose paper that had fallen

from its pages. Except for the ragged edges, it was surprisingly soft and smooth. Brynja

recognized it as rag paper, a common form of paper centuries ago. Cotton rags washed

and ground into pulp.

She squinted to read the faded ink.

I hasten to write my last words.

In my life, I have survived unspeakable horrors.

Twenty odd years ago, in the year of our Lord 1627, I was

taken captive from my beloved Iceland and swept across vast and

furious seas by the cruelest of men, the Barbary pirates. Torn from

my family and my homeland, I met a slave’s fate in Algiers and

servitude in Morocco. Now, I tremble in the dark hollow of my

master’s shed, kept away from his clapboard house in New

Amsterdam.

I hear footsteps approach.

We meant no harm.

I pray Willem will live to love again.

For me, it is too late.

God save my soul.

Sorrow seeped into Brynja’s bones.

She fixed on the date. 1627.
