Blitz: You Had Me at Meow by Gracie James with an excerpt and a giveaway

You Had Me at Meow

by Gracie James

Release date: July 7th 2026

Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance

Blurb:

Some girls get fairy godmothers. Abby Thompson gets a talking cat with a British accent and absolutely zero chill.

After her latest blind date—arranged by her loving (but relentless) mother—ends in a concussion, a wine-soaked dress, and enough humiliation to power Manhattan, Abby decides she’s done with dating. Forever.

Too bad her cat, Mr. Whiskers, has other ideas. And he’s suddenly sharing them. Out loud.

“Honestly, Abby, your taste in men is almost as concerning as your taste in sweaters.”

His mission? Fix her train-wreck love life and help her land her dream job. His qualifications? None. He’s a cat. His methods? Questionable at best.

But somewhere between the disastrous first dates, ruthless office politics, and the unexpectedly charming veterinarian who might actually be worth shaving her legs for, Abby starts to wonder…

Is Mr. Whiskers a miracle? Or a catastrophe with whiskers?

Either way, her opinionated feline isn’t backing down. And if Abby wants her dream life, she might have to trust the one life coach she never asked for. Her cat.

You Had Me at Meow is a sweet, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy about finding your voice, risking your heart, and one very determined cat who refuses to let his human settle for anything less than purr-fection.

Excerpt:

Before I even reach the fridge, Mr. Whiskers has settled into his favorite spot on the couch while I gather the essentials of a proper pity party: a pint of mint chocolate chip, my largest spoon, and one of Dottie’s cosmic brownies. Ahhh, perfect.

Curling up next to my furry little roommate, I pull our softest blanket over my legs and queue up one of our favorite movies. Maybe watching someone else’s embarrassing moments will make me feel better about my own.

As the opening credits roll, I crumble Dottie’s brownie over my ice cream, letting out a contented sigh. At least dessert never disappoints.

“Why can’t I find love like in the movies, huh, buddy?” I ask, running my fingers through his soft fur. “You know, the kind where tripping in front of your dream guy leads to true love instead of a concussion.”

Mr. Whiskers blinks up at me, his eyes reflecting the TV’s flickering light.

“I mean, look at tonight,” I continue, digging into my brownie-ice-cream creation and regretting nothing. Well... except maybe going out in the first place. “Mom sets me up with someone who’s supposedly perfect for me, and he turns out to be a complete jerk. And then when I finally meet a genuinely nice guy, he’s my cat’s veterinarian and he’s already taken.”

I scratch under Mr. Whiskers’ chin, earning a faint purr.

“Maybe I should just give up on dating altogether,” I muse. “I mean, who needs romance when I have you, anyway? We could be two crazy cat ladies together. Well, one crazy cat lady and one crazy cat, but you know what I mean. No more terrible blind dates, no more falling head over heels, literally, for the wrong guys. Just us, some yummy snacks, and the sweet escape of a good movie night. What do you think, huh, buddy? Sound good?”

“Darling, that sounds like the best idea I’ve heard all night.”

Blitz-wide giveaway (INT) ends July 16

Release Boost: Second Edition (The Parent App #5) by Tess Thompson

Second Edition

by Tess Thompson

Read With Kindle Unlimited

Delphine Delacroix does not date.
Delphine Delacroix does not chat.
Delphine Delacroix especially has no interest in the quietly sunny bookstore owner everyone thinks is perfect for her.

Six years after losing her husband, Delphine has built a quiet life on control, routine, and careful distance. She runs her gallery by day. She raises her daughter. And in a small studio behind her cottage, she throws pots — slowly, patiently, for no one but herself — because clay is the only thing that's ever let her make something whole out of something broken.

She politely, firmly, and with increasing exasperation, declines every matchmaking attempt the good people of Willet Cove have made on her behalf for the last three years.

Delphine is fine. Delphine is fine.

Then fifteen-year-old Annie makes the bravest choice of her young life: she walks into a grief support group alone. And Delphine — who has spent six years refusing that same room — is undone.

She's not the only one who notices.

Dorian Flynn has always politely suggested that Delphine Delacroix might have opinions of her own about whom she dates. Then he sees a teenage girl sitting by herself in a room meant for grown-ups — and the fiercely guarded woman who comes to pick her up, clay still dried on her wrists — and realizes the entire town may have had a point all along.

Delphine is wary. Dorian is patient. And somehow, between hesitant conversations in quiet bookstore aisles, a watchful shop cat with opinions of his own, and a girl who deserves more than silence, an unlikely found family begins to form.

But letting someone in means risking the one thing Delphine has fought for six years to protect. And the longer she circles Dorian, the more she begins to suspect that the truth she's been outrunning — about her husband, about herself, about what she's really been afraid of — is finally ready to catch up with her.

She's been wrong about the past.
She might be wrong about love, too.

Dorian is counting on it.

Second Edition is the fifth and final book in the Parent App series — a deeply emotional, slow-burn, behind-closed-doors small-town romance featuring a grumpy single-mom gallery owner and potter, a quiet Navy-veteran sunshine hero with a soft spot for the girl who needs him, found family, a meddling bookstore cat with opinions, meddling teenage matchmakers, and a powerful journey through grief, healing, and the terrifying hope of a second chance at love.

Because in Willet Cove, some love stories aren't written in the first draft.

They're the ones you finally let yourself revise

My Review - 4 1/2 of 5 stars -

4 1/2 stars for me. If anything could go wrong in planning a wedding, it did. Katherine had her heart set on a specific wedding. I undertood her reasoning and her fears, so my heart went out to her. Kaden tried to be understanding but missed the mark. I loved the intervention from the HPH crew in such an inventive way. They brought Katherine and Kaden together so their hearts could speak their truths, which made me smile as well as shed a few tears.
A wonderful story handled, once again, by Luke Andreen. He added to the emotions and cadence of the story, keeping my feelings involved.

This is my unsolicited review.

Audiobook Review: Easter Bride (Holiday Brides #3) by Shanna Hatfield, narrator Luke Andreen

Blurb

Will meddling matchmakers make a perfect match?

Piper Peterson loves the small community of Holiday, Oregon. She resides there at a beautiful, old farm where she’s surrounded by animals she’s rescued. And she manages the feed store that’s been in her family for more than a hundred years. Despite her contentment with life, her grandfather’s plans to sell the store and farm leave her future up in the air. When a sly matchmaker works to set Grandpa up with the perfect woman, Piper jumps at the chance to lend a hand. But the last thing she expects is to fall in love while helping her grandpa find happiness.

Stuck at a crossroads in his life, Colton Ford can’t decide which direction to head. Then an invitation to stay at his brother’s ranch in Holiday provides an opportunity Colt can’t pass up. He hopes time spent at the Flying B Ranch will help him clear his head and sort out his life. Before long, he finds himself entangled in a matchmaking plot involving his widowed aunt and a charismatic old gent. When he agrees to give the budding romance a nudge, he has no idea the man’s delightful granddaughter will capture his heart.

My Review - 4 1/2 of 5 stars -

4 1/2 stars. Two people who believe they are temporarily in town. They need to work out what to do even though they wish they did not have to. Piper enjoyed helping keep her family's farm and business going. Colton thought he had to leave to follow his dream. I loved how it all came together. Piper and Colt fell for each other but each kept it to themselves thinking it would be short term. The HPH crew made sure things moved in the right direction. To add to the fun, an older couple find some happiness together as well.
Luke Andreen nailed the narration again. He brought the emotion and humor to all the characters, adding to the enjoyment of this audiobook.

This is my unsolicited review.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

This was a sweet story, a quick listen. Sage was determined to give her brother a good life and showered him with the love he needed. Both had issues with others leaving them, but they did have each other. I loved how Justin knew they were a package deal and got to know both of them. He was so patient, caring, and protective. A wonderful story.
Luke Andreen did great job with the narration, bringing each character to life. He kept the story sweet and strong.

SWEET TROUBLE

Can this former bad boy show his high school crush he has what it takes to be her man?

Tripp Lawrence earned his reputation as Sugarville Grove’s biggest heartbreaker. And even if the title doesn’t fit him anymore, it doesn’t matter. He won’t let himself get tied down to a woman now, because the only one who ever really caught his eye got away years ago.

They say opposites attract, and that couldn’t have been truer for Tripp’s teen infatuation with smart, serious Jillian Johnson. But even though his popularity and athletic prowess back then had every other girl in school weak in the knees, Jillian wouldn’t give him the time of day. And when she moved away he pretty much gave up on ever finding the one.

But when Jillian returns to small town Sugarville Grove just in time for the holidays with two adorable little girls in tow, Tripp finds his heart pounding and his palms sweating over his crush all over again.

If only he hadn’t made such a terrible impression on her back in high school…

Can Tripp reform his ways and show Jillian that he’s a new man now?

It might just take a Christmas miracle, the help of the whole crew at the Lawrence family farm, and two very special little girls…

UNSCRIPTED CHRISTMAS

Can a Hollywood star and a small-town speech therapist turn their impossible attraction into forever?

Jason Hayes has spent years chasing success and finally catching it. With a hit television show, a producer credit, and a future locked in Hollywood, he should feel fulfilled. Instead, when filming shuts down for December, he finds himself craving something fame has never given him. So he heads home to Sugarville Grove… and straight back into the orbit of the woman he can't stop thinking about.

Mauve didn't plan to fall for a famous actor, especially not after rebuilding her life post-divorce. Trading New York City for a quiet Vermont town gave her peace, purpose, and a job she loves helping children find their voices. Jason was supposed to be a fun, fleeting holiday spark. Nothing more.

Then came three perfect days in Los Angeles. Now he's back for Christmas and unable to stay away from the woman who's been on his mind ever since.

As snowy nights, cozy traditions, and Sugarville Grove’s tight-knit community pull them closer, Mauve sees past the celebrity to the man beneath—the one who's always dreamed of the family he never had. Jason, meanwhile, begins to wonder if the life he's built means anything without someone to share it with.

They want the same things. They just live in different worlds.

This Christmas, they'll have to decide whether to chase separate dreams on opposite coasts or risk everything for the love they both want.

They're the ones you finally let yourself revise.

She's running from the worst night of her life. He's the cowboy who could give her a future—if her past doesn't catch up first.

Sammie
I didn't mean to kill my husband.

All I wanted was to escape his fists and build a safe life for my daughter, somewhere he could never find us. But in one life-altering second, I had to choose: run, or stay and face his powerful family—and a possible murder conviction.
I ran.
What else could I do? I'm all my little girl has in this world, and I'll do anything to keep her safe. A new name. A new town. A rented room at the Crescent Moon Ranch.
The Moon family folds us in like we've always belonged—especially Thad, the youngest brother. Steady. Kind. The kind of man I stopped believing existed. If only I could tell him who I really am. But the truth could destroy his family. And the last thing I want is to hurt another good one.
Thad
Sammie Scott is hiding something. I see it in the way she flinches at sudden sounds, the way she watches the door. She's running from someone, and I'm not even sure Sammie Scott is her real name.
It doesn't matter. I've fallen for her—and for her little girl. All I want is to keep them safe and build a life with them on the land my family has loved for generations. But I can't protect what I don't understand. And until Sammie trusts me with the truth, there's no future for us.

USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson returns with the fourth installment of the beloved Crescent Moon Ranch series. A small-town cowboy romance featuring a single mother on the run, a protector hero, a found family, and a love strong enough to outrun the past. Closed-door, clean and wholesome—perfect for fans of sweet western romance, ranch romance, and second-chance love stories.
