Her Prince Charming…

In a make-believe fairy tale?

Talented divorce attorney and town newcomer Michelle LaCroix needs roots in Charming to make partner, according to her old-fashioned boss. And that means a boyfriend! Problem is, she’s got to produce her beau in the flesh. Enter the town’s most eligible bachelor, former professional athlete Finn Sheridan, who’s only too happy to play pretend with his best friend’s ex—for a price. To his surprise, the more he’s thrown together with Michelle, the more he’s intrigued by a woman who’s far more than her ice-queen exterior. But with Finn’s trust still shattered by a brutal divorce, the make-believe match is just a fun diversion…until it becomes all too real!

EXCERPT:

“I’ve prepared a short biography about my life. Everything you need to know should be in here.”
“Is that right?” He flipped through the stapled three-page long document and whistled. “Well, well. Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M. Congratulations to me. I love a smart woman. But everything isn’t in here.”
“What’s missing?”
“Favorite color.”
“That’s not important.” She crossed her arms.
“Sure is. Favorite color tells a lot about a person.”
“Like what?”
“Whether you’re a happy person or an angry one.” Finn was just making this up as he went along. It was fun to argue with her.
“I disagree and it does not tell you a thing. That’s faulty logic. You assume a favorite color can’t change daily. What if I like blue one day and yellow the next?”
“C’mon! Everybody has a favorite color. Don’t be obtuse about this.”
“I don’t have one, actually, because I disagree with your theory.”
“Well, you better pick one, quick, because you’re half a person without it.” He shook his head.
“What’s your favorite color?” She snapped her fingers. “Quick!”
She was trying to catch him in an inconsistency and damn if he’d let her even if his favorite color also changed weekly. “Easy. It’s blue.”
“Okay, that was fast.”
“It isn’t a lie. Go ahead, pick one.”
“Fine, I like bright colors like hot pink. Sometimes yellow and orange depending on my mood. Are you happy?”
"Ecstatic."
