Ebook Review: Pucking Beautiful (Boston Bruisers Hockey #3) by Bronwen Evans

Blurb:

She told him he’d never play again. He never expected her to show him who he could become.

Marcus “Mayhem” O’Sullivan has always known exactly what he’s good at—hockey, women, and making sure nobody looks too closely at the things he can’t do.

Then one brutal hit ended his NHL career.

The brilliant neurosurgeon who saves his life also delivers the news that destroys it. Dr. Sarah Reeves is controlled, ambitious, completely off-limits—and the first woman to see past Marcus’s easy grin to the secret he’s spent a lifetime hiding. He can barely read. He’s always believed that makes him stupid.

Sarah knows better.

She sees a man whose mind works in ways no one has ever recognized. A man who reads the ice like nobody else. A man who makes her laugh, makes her want, and threatens the carefully constructed future she’s worked too hard to risk.

Neither of them is looking for forever.

But the harder Marcus falls, the more Sarah wonders whether the life she planned is really the life she wants.

And Marcus is about to discover that losing the game he loved might lead him to the one thing he never believed he deserved.

Her.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

I really enjoyed this story. I loved how Marcus adapted to his situation and how his life became something that he still worked within hockey. I found it a bit educational about the learning disability and its relationship to sports. Sarah had to learn to let go of her control. She was more caring and warm than some people saw her, and her journey to see a game out of town to show him how she actually felt. A wonderful read, and I look forward to the next in the series.

I received a copy through Booksprout, and this is my unsolicited review.
