Ebook Review - Prince of Beasts (Manhattan Shadowlands #1) by Bronwen Evans

Blurb

Never has a woman been able to resist Lorcan Connolly, Prince of the Beasts, except for the woman who is his fated mate. Sinead Quinn resists him at every turn. Yet Lorcan can see the heat of desire in her eyes. When he looks at her, his body ignites with an overpowering need to make her his. Surely she can’t delay the mating frenzy forever? He knows what she wants from him—his heart. But there is a war with the vampires coming. In the beast world there is no place for weakness and love weakens… If beasts are to survive, love is a luxury he just cannot afford.

Sinead Quinn loathes the beast world where men rule and women obey. Mated to the Prince of Beasts, she has fought the frenzy which would see her become subservient to Lorcan. While she admits he’s as sexy as hell, his old fashion views regarding beasts only mate to have children, leaves her empty. She’ll not have a relationship like her parents—cold, distant and soul destroying. Only problem is, time is running out. Every time Lorcan is near, her body craves his touch, demands his kisses… Soon she won’t be able to resist the calling of the frenzy, and unless she can win his heart first, she’s doomed.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

I enjoyed this story. Lorcan was so patient as he waited for Sinead to accept their situation. He was quite a rule follower, but he cared for Sinead. She did not want to repeat her mother's mistake, so she resisted the mating. As danger came into their lives, Lorcan and Sinead made alliances in unexpected places. Enter the vampires, lost family, and half breeds to work together for the safety of their races. Attraction between Lorcan and Sinead was obvious, but training and past experiences kept coming between them. The world building was a bit cumbersome, but I was able to look beyond it and became absorbed in the emotions and family of these characters. I so look forward to the next in the series.

I received an ARC through Booksprout, and this is my unsolicited review.
