Book Review: Somethin' Fierce by Laramie Briscoe

Blurb

The dark knight saved me on the worst day of my life…

Paisley

I never intended to make it out of the field that Chase finds me in. Ready to end it all, a man on horseback rides in and saves me.

I’m broken, betrayed, and out of options.

When a fall storm washes out the bridge to town, we find ourselves snowed in and stuck in Chase’s remote cabin. It’s a forced proximity arrangement neither of us planned, but both desperately need.

As days turn to weeks and then to months, his calm steadies my emotions. But winter is long and the cabin is small. Secrets both of us thought were buried come to the surface, and force us to face the lives we’ve left behind.

He saved my life. I might save his right back.

My Review - 4 of 5 stars -

This story started off very dark, but when Chase rescued Paisley, it went up from there. Both were quite broken, and now they had a chance to heal. As they spoke their truths, I had tears in my eyes. Paisley's past was very recent and had her feeling distrustful and unworthy. Chase lost his wife six years prior, and all he had truly done was run away. I loved how these two grew closer, admitting the attraction but moved slow while their hearts healed. A lovely book.

I received a copy through Chaotic Creatives, and this is my unsolicited review.
