Blurb:
New York Times and USA Today Best Seller L. Wilder brings a new mafia crossover for readers who like their men loyal, their stakes high, and their love worth fighting for.
Cold. Ruthless. Cruel.
Those were the words used to describe my father.
I was just like him. I had to be.
I was a legacy in the making.
But when he died, I didn’t take his crown.
I walked away and built an empire from the ashes I’d left behind.
But the bratva never truly lets go of a man.
I learned that when Alina showed up at my door.
She was beautiful with ghosts at her heels and fire in her eyes.
One look and I was done for.
We were from the same world.
We knew the rules.
Betrayal was the ultimate sin.
Someone would pay.
While this book follows Sergei and the Volkov brothers, their story unfolds in the Satan’s Fury world. Familiar faces make appearances, but you don’t have to read the Satan’s Fury series to dive into this one. There is no cheating and ends with an HEA.

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -
I had a hard time putting this book down. Alina was terrified of her husband but had the strength to leave him. Despite this strength, she was terrified and only thought of where to go to be safe even temporarily. My heart became invested in her journey from the start. Sergei knew that he should not actually help her, but he could not refuse due to his feelings for her from their past. He was kind, loyal, and very protective. Their connection was very steamy and quite strong. As everything played out, I was holding my breath and crossing my fingers. This was a strong tale, and I look forward to the next in the series.
I received a copy through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
