Josh reached under her chin and tilted her face up to his. His gaze dropped from her eyes to
her lips and remained there. “Timing has to be perfect…for everything.”
“Everything…?” she asked, breathlessly. Josh lowered his head and pressed his mouth
against hers. His tongue traced the outline of her lips before slipping into her mouth. Amber
leaned into him, sliding her hands around his neck, tugging him closer. He drew her against his
rock-solid body while his searing tongue continued its exploration, colliding with hers in a
perfect, eager rhythm. And, oh, did she drink in the delicious taste of him. His lips were warm
and sweet. Jolts of fire spread through her body in all directions, heat surging to her core.
For days, weeks, she wondered what it would be like to kiss him, to feel his lips on hers, to
be in his arms. He did not disappoint.
Her heart pounded, and her senses short-circuited. She reveled in the delicious taste of his
kiss, until he pulled away but continued to shower her with more kisses around her lips and along
her jaw. Heat sizzled in her veins. Her mind tuned out everything wrong in their world…except
this moment. This moment was perfect. She savored every kiss, every heartbeat, every breath.
Josh’s lips returned to hers. Her knees weakened, and she tightened her grip so she wouldn’t
fall. He groaned and slowly pulled away, leaving her body on fire and barely able to stand.
His eyes were heavily lidded, and his breath came in short bursts. “I’ve been wanting to do
that for a while now, sweets.”
She licked her lips, trying to get her breathing under control. “Oh?”
“Don’t give me, oh. If your response to my kiss now is any indication, I’d say you wanted
me to kiss you for a while, as well.”
She gazed up into his mesmerizing eyes and smiled. “You bet I did.”
He smiled smugly. “Good.”
She couldn’t recall the last time she felt like this, where butterflies erupted in her belly and
her insides were all a hot mess. And if she gazed into his eyes much longer, she would totally
lose herself forever.
