My Review - 4 of 5 stars - 

This was an interesting story. The New Orleans setting was definitely different. It had a little of everything in it. There was a little voodoo, lots of historical descriptions, and an historical education on class differences. Celie and Caleb moved beyond those differences despite Caleb's secret omissions and his brother's antics. I loved how Celie knew her mind and went after her independence. Caleb was so sweet and protective of her.
