Book Review: The Three Trees (Highland Whisky Kings #4) by Anna Markland

Blurb

One year after the losses suffered at the Battle of Waterloo, the three Halstead brothers struggle to put their lives back together. Rowan must learn to cope with the loss of his leg. Will he reconcile with Daisy or continue in the stubborn belief she is better off not marrying a cripple? Ash is exiled to Scotland to work for the Kingdom Distillery in the hopes Tavish and Payton can help him change his dissolute ways. Burdened by guilt because he was responsible for Rowan's injury, Hawthorne has wandered the world, reluctant to go home. Will he find peace on a Caribbean island?
Their sister calls them The Three Trees and prays her brothers will one day find a love as great as the one she shares with Niven King.

My Review - 4 of 5 stars -

There was a lot happening in this story, showcasing three brothers. We started with Daisy and Rowan. He was trying to deal with his injury and find a better way. I loved how Daisy showed that she cared no matter what, even despite him shutting her out. She was so caring. It was very touching watching all the support he received. As their future worked out, Ash was sent to Scotland to learn how to work and straighten up his life. Makenna was a force to be reckoned with, and their love grew quickly. I was so glad to see Ash mature. Both brothers were trying to find Thorne to bring him back home. Here we travelled to the Caribbean to meet Thorne who found love amongst a revolution that went nowhere. Queenie was a Romi trying to live peacefully surrounded by discontent slaves and wealthy Islanders trying to keep everything the same. I enjoyed all the history throughout the stories.

I received an ARC, and this is my unsolicited review.
