Paperback Review: Magically Suspicious Mysteries Volume One (Magically Suspicious Paperbacks) by Misty Simon

Blurb

Three novellas in one print book!
Join Verla Faeth and her merry band of misfit paranormals at the Ren Faire as they figure out whodunnit and sometimes whodunnit, all while navigating relationships and situations galore!

A Faire to Remember - Verla is so not ready to face her ex coming back to town, but when he brings a special dog and her powers finally manifest, she'd better learn fast...

Whatever Ales You - Dealing with demons was not on Verla Faeth’s list of things to handle today. But she has no choice when they show up at her Ren Faire at the same time a dead body is found in the basement of the Tavern on the Line.

An Inkling of Trouble - Verla is seriously out of her depth when she finds a gargoyle in the maze, a kelpie in her favorite fountain, and a phoenix at the forge. Where are these creatures coming from and who brought them in?

My Review - 5 of 5 stars -

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters, the setting, and the mysteries were page turners. I loved the paranormal aspect of this faire for misfits.
A Faire to Remember - Verla began to learn about her abilities while solving the murder of a friend. Add in an ex-husband, a small fluffy dog with an interesting ability, and good friends, an entertaining read was in your hands.
What Ales You - The pull of the writing continued into the second story. This time, demons were brought into the story as well as a magical Special Forces to help solve a murder. New people came into the story, and I hope they stay.
An Inkling of Trouble - While no murder occurred in this one, a trail of new creatures showed up at the faire. Verla and crew followed all clues to find where the magic was coming from. Now there were more occupants, family of this Renaissance Faire.
Winging It - bonus story - I enjoyed this little side trip into the romantic life of Trice and Gargy.
I highly recommend this book.

This is my unsolicited review.
